A Tribute to the 13 U.S. service members who died supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel at Hamid Karzai International Airport Kabul, Afghanistan was done by The Bell of Honor on Tuesday August 31, 2021 at 7 PM at Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial in Rochester Mn.

Members of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement, EMT, Fire and citizens paid tribute to the 13 U.S. service members who died supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

13 individuals or families came up one by one to lay a single red rose on an American Flag after the name of each soldier was read. Each rose symbolized one of the service members who died.

Other ceremonies included: Presentation of the Flag, 21 gun salute, Taps, “Amazing Grace” played on the bagpipes and tolling of the Bell of Honor seven times.
